The Canadian Mouse Consortium was established in 2004 with goals to integrate the strengths of Canadian mouse technologies, enable Canadian-led research programs that rely on mouse genetics, and lead and participate in international efforts to establish a publicly available mutant mouse resource.

The project will provide five enabling platforms:

  • high throughput mutant production
  • high throughput mouse phenotyping
  • genotyping and gene expression analysis
  • archiving, maintenance, recovery and distribution
  • informatics and databases
